John K. PocusBiographyJohn K. Pocus is a partner in Wicker Smith’s Birmingham office. Licensed to practice in both Alabama and Florida, the majority of John’s time is spent in providing complex coverage analysis for insurance clients throughout the firm. In addition, he has extensive experience in the litigation of complicated insurance and reinsurance disputes, often involving bad faith, as well as transportation and trucking negligence cases, premises liability, toxic tort litigation, products liability, and construction law. John is regarded by his peers as one of the best personal injury attorneys in Alabama and was named to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2021, 2022 and 2024. This peer designation is awarded only to a select number of accomplished attorneys in each state and takes into account peer recognition, professional achievement in legal practice, and other cogent factors. John graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2006 with degrees in History and Theatre. After graduation, he received a Fulbright fellowship to teach English and study Catalan in the Principality of Andorra. He went on to attend the University of Alabama School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2012.
