Andrew R. Hudson

Andrew Hudson is a partner in Wicker Smith’s St. Petersburg office, where he focuses his practice on the defense of physicians, nurses, hospitals, and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice litigation, as well as general liability and premises liability matters.

A native of Tampa, Andrew earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in 2016 before going on to receive his legal education at Stetson University College of Law, graduating in 2019. At Stetson, Andrew concentrated his studies in civil trial practice and medical malpractice defense. He graduated as an Honor Roll recipient and was awarded the prestigious American Jurisprudence Award for outstanding scholastic achievement in his writing seminar.

Andrew’s path to partnership has been marked by a level of trial experience that is rare for an attorney of his tenure. Since being admitted to the Florida Bar, he has developed a robust litigation practice that includes jury trials, arbitrations, and extensive deposition and discovery work. His courtroom presence and command of complex medical and liability issues have made him a trusted advocate for healthcare providers and institutions facing high-stakes claims.

Beyond the courtroom, Andrew is a sought-after speaker on medical malpractice risk management. He has been invited to present at hospitals and healthcare institutions, where he educates physicians, nurses, and administrators on best practices for avoiding medical malpractice litigation

Prior to law school, Andrew was actively involved in campus life at Florida State University as a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, where he served as Philanthropy Chair.

Outside of the office, Drew enjoys an active lifestyle alongside his wife, Brittany, who is also a partner at Wicker Smith. They have a shared passion for tennis and golf and also a great love for their animals, which include dogs, donkeys, and chickens. These pursuits provide a meaningful balance that reflects the same dedication and commitment Drew brings to serving his clients each day.
