Wicker Smith Partner Featured on USLAW NETWORK’s Short Takes Video Discussing the Future of Litigation After COVID-19
Watch Wicker Smith’s Miami partner, Constantine “Dean” Nickas, and co-presenter Jake J. Laffey take on the topic of “Are We on the Tip of the COVID-19 Litigation Iceberg? Lessons Learned and What to Expect in 2022 and Beyond” covered by USLAW NETWORK, Inc.’s Short Takes on Vimeo. View the entire episode here on Vimeo.com.
The recorded discussion covers how the COVID-19 global pandemic has changed how litigation is conducted at least in the near term, and possibly permanently (ZOOM much anyone?). Verdicts nationally had been rising exponentially BEFORE the pandemic, will it now add to that trend? Plaintiff’s Bar advertising has increased substantially on COVID-related litigation alone. Some trial lawyers and medical providers who specialize in P.I. claims are becoming even more aggressive when it comes to treatment in order to recoup losses allegedly suffered during the pandemic. The backlog of trials in courts is real, and the dam may be breaking. Together, we will discuss tools and strategies to meet these new challenges based upon our collective experiences, and share best practices for mitigating risk and exposure in the future.
