Liz Messianu

Liz C. Messianu is a partner in Wicker Smith’s Miami office, where her practice focuses on probate, trust, and estate administration and litigation in the state of Florida.

Liz has represented clients in a wide range of cases involving contested guardianship proceedings, wills, breaches of fiduciary duty, trust disputes, and estate administration challenges. Her proactive approach and attention to detail have resulted in many successful outcomes for her clients.  She is frequently contacted to handle complex guardianship litigation cases with high exposure and demanding emergency intervention. Throughout her career, Liz has secured significant victories in probate guardianship and estate litigation matters, including successfully contesting a will on behalf of heirs, resolving complex disputes over guardianship adversary proceedings administration, recovering substantial assets for beneficiaries in cases involving breaches of fiduciary duty by executors or trustees, and defending clients against allegations of undue influence or incapacity in contested probate proceedings.

Liz attended the University of Miami School of Law, where she obtained both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Laws in Estate Planning. This specialized degree equipped her with advanced insights into complex estate planning strategies and taxation laws, as well as navigating the pitfalls of estate and trust litigation.

Liz has been admitted to practice in the State of Florida since 2001. She is fluent in Spanish and is an active member of the Florida Bar Association, Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, Dade County Bar Association, and the Miami-Dade Probate Bar Association.
