Jim WilsonJim Wilson James “Jim” Wilson is an associate in Wicker Smith’s Tampa office where he works in a variety of practice areas, but primarily civil trial law, and personal injury claims and lawsuits. Jim has over 32 years of experience as a Civil Trial Attorney, including 47 jury trials, several non-jury trials, five appellate cases, and several hundred mediation conferences and arbitrations. Prior to joining Wicker Smith as an associate in 2024, Jim served as lead trial attorney for personal injury clients, many resulting in six-figure verdicts and settlements and previously defended several national insurance companies in personal injury lawsuits in the Tampa area. Jim attended the University of Alabama – Tuscaloosa, where he earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration, graduating with honors. He continued on to University of Florida College of Law where he received his Juris Doctor, and was a member of Moot Court. . He is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and is honored with the prestigious “AV rating” by Martindale-Hubbell. Jim enjoys spending time with his wife, their three children, and, of course, their golden retriever, Bob. On the weekends, you can find Jim watching college football (especially the Alabama Crimson Tide), watching movies, and enjoying the parks and restaurants of downtown St. Petersburg. His interests also include sports, travelling, politics, and music (such as Steely Dan, Foo Fighters, REM, The Rolling Stones, U2, and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers).
