Jeffrey CanupBiographyJeffrey A. Canup is an associate in the Sarasota office. He defends individuals and entities in cases involving general liability, first-party liability, premises liability, insurance coverage, and medical malpractice. Mr. Canup previously held an in-house position at a nationwide insurance company handling first-party liability defense claims. He has also worked at a Tampa Bay area defense firm litigating first-party liability cases involving sinkhole, roof, and water loss claims. In addition to his work in the insurance industry, Mr. Canup has Federal government and not-for-profit experience. He served as a civilian attorney for the U.S. Department of the Navy in Japan and Pennsylvania, advising military officers on government contract law, civilian personnel law, fiscal law, and ethics. Most recently, Mr. Canup worked for a local not-for-for profit organization, advised hundreds of domestic violence survivors, and representing many of them against their abusers at trial. Mr. Canup is certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Circuit and County Court Civil Mediator.
