Francisco J. VaronaBiographyFrancisco J. Varona is an Associate in the Miami office of Wicker Smith, where his practice focuses on general liability, retail, and transportation. Francisco earned his undergraduate degree in Marketing from Florida State University. He went on to attend law school at Florida International University College of Law, where he graduated cum laude. During law school, Francisco served as the Executive Alumni Relations Editor for FIU Law Review, which published his student comment in Volume 17, Number 4. In addition to serving as an executive board member of FIU Law Review, Francisco also served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association. After law school, Francisco worked as an associate at the Miami office of a major national firm, where he gained invaluable experience defending a variety of civil liability matters including tort cases, FMLA violations, False Claims Act litigation, and employment and labor disputes. After that, he represented both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation matters at a previous firm, before joining Wicker Smith in 2025. Francisco has experience in both state and federal court. In his free time, Francisco enjoys fervently rooting for local sports teams, enjoying the outdoors, and attending live music shows. He also has a passion for music, which inspired him to learn to play various instruments, including drums and other percussion.
