David S. ThompsonBiographyDavid S. Thompson joined Wicker Smith’s Atlanta office in 2026 as an Of Counsel attorney handling general liability, trucking negligence matters, and employment law. In his more than 20 years of practice, David has handled a wide variety of claims on behalf of plaintiffs and claimants alike, including personal injury, workers compensation, premises liability, and employment disputes, but for the past several years his focus has been on the defense of complex trucking liability and motor vehicle accident litigation. Prior to joining Wicker Smith, David was a partner at a national firm managing a team of ten associate attorneys and their legal support staff and serving as lead counsel and the main point of contact for clients from major national insurers and Fortune 500 companies. He is well-versed in the pace and volume of defense litigation, having tried dozens of cases throughout Georgia in both state and federal court, as well as before the State Board of Workers’ Compensation, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Georgia Supreme Court. David is a graduate of the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce, where he was also a member of the varsity rowing team, and Emory University School of Law. In addition to his busy litigation schedule, he is a dedicated member of his community, holding leadership positions in his church, his neighborhood HOA, and with the UVa Club of Atlanta.
