David Akintonde

David Akintonde

David O. Akintonde is an associate in Wicker Smith’s Orlando office. He works in a variety of practice areas, but primarily Commercial litigation and General liability.

David attended the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, where he majored in Psychology and minored in Political Science. He graduated cum laude in 2017. Before law school, David spent three years working with For Our Future Fund, a nationwide political action committee focused on social issues. He started as a Field Organizer, and later became a Regional Director, managing over forty employees in a multi-county region. While serving in this capacity, he worked closely with elected officials in Tallahassee to advance the organization’s objectives.

Following his time with For Our Future Fund, David continued on to Florida State University College of Law. At FSU, he was the Student Bar Association President, a member of the FSU Trial Team, and received the Book Award in Race Law & Policy. He received his Juris Doctor in 2023.

As a law student, David completed internships at firms on both the plaintiff and defense side civil litigation, and has worked on issues regarding criminal defense, wrongful death, construction defects, constitutional violations and personal injury.

He joined Wicker Smith as an associate in 2023.
