Orlando Partners Present at FSHRMPS 41st Annual Conference 2021
ORLANDO – AUGUST 19, 2021 – Wicker Smith O’Hara McCoy & Ford P.A. Orlando partners, Taylor McLeod and Patrick L. Mixon, presented at the Florida Society for Healthcare Risk Management and Patient Safety (FSHRMPS) 41st Annual Meeting & Education Conference on August 13th. Their presentations addressed “Recent Trends in Emergency Department Medical Malpractice.” Ms. McLeod also gave a presentation on “Litigation Through COVID-19 and Beyond” as a member of a panel discussion. In addition, Wicker Smith sponsored the event at Gold level.
The FSHRMPS annual conference was held August 11th through the 13th at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Florida. The theme of this year’s conference was “The Road to Recovery, New Horizons and Opportunities to Keep Our Patients Safe.” It included more than 25 educational sessions and important updates on topics such as the new Florida Patient Safety Metrics and the status of the new mandatory Culture of Patient Safety Surveys. The Florida Society for Health Care Risk Management and Patient Safety (FSHRMPS) is a state-wide professional development association comprised of members who are Health Care Risk Management and Patient Safety Professionals.
