William Gunnar Westergom

William Gunnar Westergom is an attorney in Wicker Smith’s Tampa office, handling a variety of matters including commercial litigation, general and premises liability, auto negligence, and catastrophic injury.

Gunnar has been a litigation attorney in the Tampa Bay Area for more than six years. He first joined Wicker Smith shortly after finishing law school and spent three years here honing his litigation skills before taking a position with a boutique Tampa firm that specializes in the litigation of real property and land use matters throughout the state of Florida. During his tenure there, Gunnar advised property owners, developers, and business stakeholders on regulatory compliance, land use restrictions, and risk mitigation strategies, and represented clients in multi-million dollar disputes. Wicker Smith welcomed him back in 2026.

Gunnar holds an undergraduate degree from Florida State University, a law degree from Stetson University College of Law, and an MBA with a focus on Business Strategy and Organizational Leadership from The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina.

When he’s not working, Gunnar can be usually found out for a run, tending to his growing collection of plants, or spending time with family.
