Biography

Teresita Baron, a partner in Wicker Smith’s Miami office, concentrates her practice in personal injury and medical malpractice defense.  Through various clerkships, she also gained experience in other areas of practice including family law, insurance defense, wrongful death defense, nursing home defense, appellate practice, and criminal law.

While in law school, Ms. Baron clerked for the Honorable Judge Juan Ramirez, Jr. in the Third District Court of Appeal and the Miami-Dade Office of the State Attorney, as well as a local firm specializing in appellate practice and insurance defense.  She also served as an Articles Editor and mentor for member-candidates of the St. Thomas University Law Review.  A recipient of two book awards in Appellate Advocacy and Trial Advocacy Procedure, Teresita earned her Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas in 2008.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University in 2003.

Admitted to practice in the state of Florida in 2008 and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 2009, Teresita is a member of The Florida Bar, Dade County Bar Association, Cuban American Bar Association, Hispanic American Law Society, and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
