Teya AtashbarBiographyTeya Atashbar is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Wicker Smith, where her practice focuses on General Liability and Retail matters. Teya earned her undergraduate degree in Linguistics from the University of Calgary in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and continued her studies at Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law in Davie, Florida. There, Teya was the Membership Chair for the Board of Advocates, the Assistant Lead Articles Editor on Nova Law Review, and a Dean’s List Scholar. She graduated number two in her class, with CALI Book Awards in Legal Research and Writing I, Legal Research and Writing II and Constitutional Law II. A gifted writer, Teya was selected as a research and teaching assistant to Professor Kenneth Lewis in Legal Research and Writing, a position she held for most of law school. Her duties included researching legal topics in a variety of subject areas including property law, sports law, and intellectual property law, as well as serving as an editor on items written for publication by her professors and assisting students with their research and drafting project. She also served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Judge Peter Holden in the Criminal Division of Florida’s 17th Judicial Circuit, and was a summer associate with Wicker Smith before becoming a full-time associate upon her admission to the Florida Bar in 2025. Outside of work, Teya stays active with Pilates and enjoys cooking, travelling, and spending time with her family and dogs.
