Matthew O. Perez

Matthew O. Perez is an associate in the Miami office of Wicker Smith, where his practice focuses on general liability, premises liability, and transportation matters.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Communication from Florida International University, a Master of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Miami, and a law degree from St. Thomas University College of Law. During law school he earned CALI Book Awards in Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research, and also in Appellate Advocacy.

Matthew is a talented writer and researcher with a broad communications background. Before he entered law school, he spent several years as a content writer and editor for NBC 6 South Florida and then worked for three years as a Communications Specialist at the University of Miami while he pursued his master’s degree. His legal experience includes a judicial internship in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida where he gained experience drafting judicial orders, and prior to joining Wicker Smith in 2026 he worked at a boutique firm in Miami Lakes handling guardianship and probate cases, as well as governmental matters for several municipalities in South Florida.

Outside of the office, Matthew enjoys playing tennis, surfing, and spending time with family.
