Jason GlusmanBiographyJason A. Glusman joined Wicker Smith in 2003 and is a Shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale office. Jason represents clients in both state and federal litigation in the areas of pharmacy negligence, employment, aviation, transportation, premises liability and ADA lawsuits. He has extensive experience in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases, and serves as Statewide Counsel for several clients, including Statewide Pharmacy Defense Counsel for Publix Super Markets and CVS. He oversees the firm’s equine liability practice, representing racetracks and other equine facilities throughout Florida in matters involving both premises liability and equine-related injuries. In addition to litigated matters, Jason participates in pre-suit investigations, management and mitigation of risk, as well as providing corporate counsel to his clients in connection with commercial disputes. With respect to his aviation practice, Jason has handled numerous general aviation matters on behalf of aircraft manufacturers, fixed base operators and owner/operators. He served as co-counsel in the Bahamas crash of a Cessna 402 carrying the entertainer Aaliyah, co-counsel for Chalk’s Airways in the catastrophic crash of their Grumman Mallard seaplane, co-counsel in the Comair Flight 5191 crash in Lexington, Kentucky and co-counsel for US Airways in the Flight 1702 crash in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Additionally, Jason serves as a Mock Trial Coach in the Pre-Law Program at American Heritage School, the #1 Private School in the Nation in Mock Trial and Moot Court Competitions. He coached the American Heritage State Champion team, who then placed 5th in the National High School Mock Trial Championship, which was the highest placement ever attained by a Florida High School team in the history of the National Mock Trial Championship. Jason has also participated in the Harvard University Mock Trial Association High School Seminar Program in Cambridge, Massachusetts, which provides his American Heritage students an opportunity to learn from the best collegiate mock trial competitors in America. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad College of Law, where he taught civil pre-trial practice. Prior to joining the firm, Jason served as a Prosecutor at the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office and became Division Chief primarily responsible for prosecuting defendants charged with violent crimes. While at the State Attorney’s Office, Jason acted as lead or supervising attorney in over 30 jury trials and in excess of 70 bench trials. Jason graduated from the University of Florida in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts. He went on to earn a Juris Doctor from University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2000. While in law school, Mr. Glusman worked in the Gang Crimes Unit of the Felony Trial Division at the Cook County State Attorney’s Office in Chicago. Additionally, he was a member of the Georgetown University National White Collar Crime Invitational Team, a Regional Finalist in the American Trial Lawyers Association Competition, Regional Semifinalist in the ABA’s Texas Young Lawyers Mock Trial Competition and Champion of the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law Mock Trial Tournament. Jason is an active member in The Florida and Federal Bar and is a member of several national legal networking Organizations/ Associations. Jason is a Board member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and has earned an AV® Preeminent™ rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He also has been selected by the South Florida Legal Guide as a Top Lawyer since 2014. Jason regularly presents at national seminars as well as to risk management departments and is active in diversity efforts including participation in local minority mentoring projects. He is also involved in several charitable causes, including ARC Broward, and he proudly supports his wife Natalie in her role as President of Junior Welfare Society.
