James FosterJames Foster James R. Foster is an associate in Wicker Smith’s Fort Lauderdale office where he currently devotes his practice to automotive, premises liability, and commercial litigation. Mr. Foster graduated from Florida State University in 2015 with degrees in Criminology and Business/Entrepreneurship. After working in the Office of Admission and Registrar, at Florida State University, Mr. Foster pursued his dream of becoming an attorney, and went on to earn his Juris Doctor in 2019 from the Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University where he graduated with honors. While in law school, Mr. Foster was very active on both trial and moot court teams, serving as the Chief Justice of the Moot Court Society. In his first year of law school, he placed first out of 112 competitors in the Feinrider Moot Court Competition. He then competed in the 2017 Hon. E. Earle Zehmer Memorial Mock Trial Competition in Orlando, Florida, where he was selected as the overall Best Advocate. Additionally, in his second and third years of law school Mr. Foster competed in the American Bar Association’s NAAC Moot Court Competition where he won the Regional Competition in Boston, Massachusetts, was recognized as a semi-finalist in the National Competition in Washington, D.C., and received various written brief awards ranking fourth overall out of over 150 teams. Mr. Foster previously served on the President’s 64 initiative of Nova Southeastern University. The President’s 64 is an elite body of student leaders which is comprised of 64 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, hand-selected by the President of the University. He also prepared an article discussing the impact of technology on mental health for the American College of Legal Medicine (ACLM) Hirsch Writing Competition, which placed second overall and was selected for publication by the ACLM.
