James Roddy III

James J. Roddy III is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Wicker Smith. He focuses his practice in automotive negligence, civil litigation and premises liability cases.

He received his juris doctor in 2019 from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law. Prior to law school, he graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies. While earning his undergraduate degree he volunteered with the Collier County Teen Court where he assisted with case management, development and presentation.

Mr. Roddy’s prior experience includes working as a quality assurance analyst for a large loan servicing company responsible for ensuring compliance with federal guidelines related to mortgage lending and servicing. His law firm experience includes serving as a law clerk and then a practicing attorney with a law firm focusing on foreclosure matters. He also worked as the firm’s office manager and assistant while attending college.

In addition, he interned with Outer Temple Chamber in London with a group of four barristers who focused their practices on historic abuse cases, medical malpractice and contract disputes.
