Ethan Llanes

Ethan Llanes is an associate in the Miami office of Wicker Smith, where his practice focuses on medical malpractice and general liability matters.

Ethan earned his B.A. in English from Florida International University, before continuing his education at Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law, where he graduated cum laude, was named to the Dean’s List four times, and received the CALI Book Award in Administrative Law.

Prior to attending law school, Ethan spent more than four years in the insurance industry as a sales representative with a Miami insurance agency, where he sold and serviced commercial auto, personal auto, and boater’s insurance policies and managed commercial auto accounts, an experience that informs his insurance defense practice today. As a law student, he gained experience as a law clerk with an immigration firm and as a legal intern with the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office. Ethan joined Wicker Smith as a law clerk in the firm’s Miami office, preparing memoranda, medical chronologies, and deposition summaries in support of insurance defense matters, and became an associate upon his admission to the Florida Bar in 2026.

Outside of his legal practice, Ethan enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle, with a particular interest in fitness. He is an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys rooting for the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, and AS Roma. In his free time, Ethan enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, as well as his golden retriever and tabby cat.
