Diaz is a shareholder in Wicker Smith’s St. Petersburg office, where she handles complex medical malpractice, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and professional liability matters. Erin earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University summa cum laude in 1994. Upon graduation she was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force through the Air Force ROTC program, where she served her country for four years on active duty as both an officer and registered nurse. Transitioning from service to law, Erin went on to attend law school at the University of North Dakota School of Law, earning her law degree in 2001. She began her legal career in North Dakota and Minnesota, representing both plaintiffs and defendants across a broad spectrum of civil and criminal matters before relocating to Florida, where she has built a distinguished litigation practice. Erin has litigated a wide variety of complex matters in both state and federal courts, representing clients in the defense of professional malpractice, wrongful death, products liability, premises liability, automobile and trucking negligence, and long-term care claims. Her extensive clinical nursing background is a significant strategic advantage in medically complex cases, enabling her to analyze medical records, understand clinical standards of care, and communicate technical evidence with clarity and precision. Erin’s excellence in the practice of law has been recognized at the highest levels of the profession.
