Wicker Smith Attorney is Recognized as a Florida Bar Board-Certified Civil Trial Lawyer

MIAMI/TAMPA – June 1, 2020 – Civil litigation defense firm, Wicker Smith O’Hara McCoy & Ford P.A., is pleased to announce David Borrego, an associate in their Tampa office, has recently passed the Florida Board of Legal Specialization written attorney certification exam in Civil Trial Law. This distinctive accomplishment allows him the right to publicly represent himself as a specialist in all Civil Law matters.  It is one of the highest and most reliable honor an attorney can achieve.

David M. Borrego joined Wicker Smith in 2019 where he focuses his practice in automobile negligence and premises liability. Prior to joining Wicker Smith, he worked as an in-house trial attorney for two major insurance carriers handling complex automobile and premises liability matters. Mr. Borrego started his career as a public defender in Hillsborough County, Florida and previously practiced in various areas of litigation including real estate law, personal injury protection, auto-glass, and criminal defense.

Board certification recognizes an attorney’s special knowledge, skills and proficiency in various areas of law and professionalism and ethics in practice. Certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of the competency and experience of attorneys in the areas of law approved for certification the lawyer must meet a rigorous set of standards. Board certified lawyers have a minimum of five years in law practice and must show substantial involvement in the field of law for which certification is sought.
