Christine Perez is an attorney in Wicker Smith’s Fort Lauderdale office where she handles medical malpractice, premises liability, civil litigation, nursing home and assisted living facility defense, as well as the defense of administrative matters before the Department of Health. Christine graduated from Marian College in Indianapolis, Indiana, in 1979, with a nursing degree, and focused her nursing practice in the perioperative field, including all specialties except open heart. She practiced in several states including Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Florida and in several major trauma centers. In 1989, Christine graduated summa cum laude from Otterbein University with a Bachelor’s in Business and Organizational Communication. She attended Nova Southeastern University School of Law where she earned a Juris Doctorate in 1992. Prior to joining Wicker Smith, she worked at another Florida firm where she defended medical malpractice claims for over a decade. Christine also lectures to nurses and physicians on a variety of healthcare related topics including documentation, nursing home resident rights and medication errors. Christine was admitted to practice in the State of Florida in 1992 and is an active member of the Florida Bar, Broward County Bar Association and Florida Nursing Association.
