Network Engineer – Fort Lauderdale


Wicker Smith is looking for a Network Engineer for our Ft. Lauderdale office.  This is a full-time position to join a team supporting 10 offices and 400+ users.  Office hours are M – F 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some weekend, after hours, and remote work for special projects and maintenance.

A Network Engineer will work as part of a team to help to maintain a Windows server environment.  Our environment consists of more than 100 Windows servers, Exchange, SQL, NetApp and Nimble SANs.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include

·         Maintaining Windows servers
·         Installing and configuring new Windows servers
·         Supporting an Exchange 2010/2016 environment
·         Monitoring backups
·         Working tickets from the ticket system
·         Diagnosing and resolving the customer incident remotely or locally in FTL


To perform this job, applicants must have:

o   Advanced knowledge of Windows 2008, 2012, & 2016
o   Ability to configure and troubleshoot Active Directory
o   Ability to troubleshoot and administer Exchange
o   Ability to troubleshoot Windows 7 & 10
o   Ability to troubleshoot Office 2016
o   Working knowledge of administering Hyper-V Clusters
o   Working knowledge on SAN concepts
o   Working knowledge of Internet technology
o   Working knowledge of LAN/WAN & wireless concepts
o   Working knowledge of security concepts

o   Excellent communication skills
o   Give very clear written and verbal support to all customers
o   Ability to learn new technologies
o   Have professional speaking voice on the phone
o   Effectively deliver clear messages
o   Be able to communicate patiently when dealing with end users
o   Work effectively under pressure
o   Provide problem solving solutions over the phone
o   Ability to prioritize tickets
o   Work as a member of a team
o   Solid knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written
o   Reliable transportation
o   Ability to travel

This position requires a high school diploma or GED.  An associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with at least 5 year’s of experience in the field is preferred.  Technical certifications are preferred, but not required.
