Timothy GilbertTimothy Gilbert Timothy R. Gilbert is an associate in Wicker Smith’s Tampa Office. He handles commercial litigation, construction defect, mass torts and class actions, as well as professional and premises liability matters. Mr. Gilbert earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland in 2008. He then continued his education at the University of Maryland School of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctor and a certificate of concentration in environmental law in 2013. During law school, Mr. Gilbert was selected to represent the University of Maryland at the National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. Prior to joining Wicker Smith, Mr. Gilbert worked as an Assistant State Attorney with Pinellas County’s Office of the State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit where he tried nearly 30 jury trials and won the 2017 Silver Tie Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. Previously, he served the Office of Court Counsel, Sixth Judicial Circuit as staff attorney for two and a half years managing criminal appeals and post-conviction matters. Following graduation from law school, he clerked for the Honorable Timothy J. McCrone in Howard County, Maryland. Mr. Gilbert was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida in 2015 and holds an inactive admittance to the State of Maryland received in 2013. In his spare time he enjoys fitness activities, playing golf, traveling, painting, playing music, kayaking, and spending time at the beach with his wife. Honors
