Susan M. Wilson, a partner in the Tampa office, is admitted to practice in both Florida and Indiana. She has over 10 years of liability defense experience, handling matters in medical malpractice, personal injury and premies liability, as well as defending health care practitioners in state administrative licensure proceedings.
Before the start of her legal career, Ms. Wilson was a licensed Registered Nurse for almost 20 years, during which time she gained significant experience in various clinical areas as well as health care management. Among her most notable executive management positions, Ms. Wilson was the area director of franchise operations for Interim Health Care Inc., overseeing 25 home health care offices in eight states. She was also the executive director and part-owner of Interim Health Care Home Health Agency in Lexington, Kentucky.
Her extensive background as a health care practitioner and manager has proven a valuable asset in her legal work, which often involves assisting and educating health care practitioners on how to deal with federal and state regulations. Ms. Wilson has lectured on the privacy of health care information and liability prevention issues to various professional gatherings, including the Hillsborough County Bar, The American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Association of Nurse Attorneys.
Ms. Wilson earned her law degree from Notre Dame Law School in 1998. In 1987, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Tampa.
