Biography

Steven Y. Leinicke, a partner in the Fort Lauderdale office, joined Wicker Smith at the start of his legal career. Over the past 30+ years, Mr. Leinicke has served as lead trial counsel for individuals and corporations in numerous complex civil litigation suits involving general negligence, products liability, legal malpractice, fire loss litigation, medical malpractice, pharmaceutical litigation, asbestos litigation, construction, premises liability, automobile liability, and all aspects of insurance litigation such as professional errors and omissions coverage, policy interpretation and bad faith claims.

An AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, Mr. Leinicke serves as National Coordinating Counsel for major product manufacturers and as Florida statewide trial counsel for many product manufacturers. He has successfully represented such clients as The Stanley Works, Black & Decker, Inc., Hitachi Koki USA, Ltd., Evenflo Company, Inc., Navistar, Morrow Crane Company, Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Chubb Insurance, ProAssurance, First Professionals Insurance Company, Gulf Atlantic Legal Defense and Chartis (formerly AIG).

Mr. Leinicke graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from DePauw University in 1971 and he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1973. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in the state of Florida.
