Novera Hamid is an associate in Wicker Smith’s Orlando office where she focuses her practice primarily on matters involving civil litigation, medical malpractice and premises liability matters.
In 2012, Ms. Hamid earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida with a major in Political Science. She then went on to earn a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern Shepard Broad College of Law in 2015, graduating cum laude. While in law school, Ms. Hamid received a CALI Award of Excellence in Torts and also was a member of the Law Review and Moot Court Society. In addition, she was on the Moot Court Health Law Team and competed in the National Health Law Competition.
Prior to joining Wicker Smith in 2018, Ms. Hamid worked as a senior attorney at a healthcare company, where she specialized in appealing insurance claims denied for medical necessity and lack of authorization. Ms. Hamid also interned at the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the General Counsel, where her work primarily focused on Medicare and Medicaid issues. Ms. Hamid was admitted to practice in the State of Florida in 2015 and is an active member of the Florida Bar.
