Melissa C. Hernandez is an associate for Wicker Smith’s Fort Lauderdale office, where she focuses her practice in premise liability.

In 2015, Ms. Hernandez graduated magna cum laude from Florida International University with a major in Communications. After completing her undergraduate studies, Ms. Hernandez attended St. Thomas University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2018.  During law school, Ms. Hernandez served as an Article’s Editor for the Journal of Complex Litigation and was a member of St. Thomas Law Trial Team. While in law school, Ms. Hernandez worked as a law clerk for a South Florida based personal injury firm. She also served as a Certified Legal Intern for the North Carolina Department of Justice.

Prior to joining Wicker Smith, Ms. Hernandez worked as an attorney for a Florida based firm handling insurance defense matters involving contract disputes. She also worked for a small boutique firm in Fort Lauderdale handling civil litigation matters.

Ms. Hernandez is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
