Marshall McKinstryBiographyMarshall E. McKinstry, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, is an associate in Wicker Smith’s Orlando office where his practice focuses on civil litigation, medical malpractice, professional liability, and appellate matters. Before rejoining Wicker Smith in 2024, Marshall practiced for several years at a local boutique defense firm focusing upon the defense of physicians and hospitals in medical negligence and wrongful death actions in both the trial and appellate court levels. He also provided services to a local hospital system in the areas of peer review, medical staffing, and regulatory opinions. Mr. McKinstry graduated from the University of Florida with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Classical Studies in 2014. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2017. He was awarded the Evelyn Hartman Endowed Scholarship for all three years of law school. While in law school, Marshall was a Dean’s List scholar each year and earned the Book Award in Legal Drafting. He also served as a Patent Fellow with the University of Florida Office of Technology Licensing, where he reviewed new inventions and drafted reports detailing whether the University should apply for a patent. Marshall was admitted to practice in the State of Florida in 2017 and is an active member of The Florida Bar and Orange County Bar Association. While not practicing law, he enjoys traveling and playing golf.
