Jennifer CastroJennifer Castro Jennifer Castro is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Wicker Smith where she focuses her practice primarily on aviation matters. Ms. Castro has represented numerous aviation companies, including aircraft manufacturers, fixed base operators, aircraft and engine leasing companies, aircraft managers, 14 CFR Part 135 charter operators, fleet owners, foreign airline operators, fractional owners, flight schools, and 14 CFR Part 145 repair stations in litigation involving insurance claims, contract actions, and federal regulatory/enforcement actions. She has also represented aircraft owners, pilots and charter operators in employment contract disputes, and represented the estates of charter crew members in wrongful death actions, as well as airline manufacturers in products liability actions. Ms. Castro graduated from Florida International University with a double major in Economics and Political Science in 2004. She then graduated cum laude from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law where she earned a Juris Doctorate in 2007. While attending law school, Ms. Castro was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, an International Economics Honors Society, and also received a Concentration Certificate in International Law. Prior to joining Wicker Smith in 2019, Ms. Castro practiced at a Florida law firm that specializes in aircraft transactions and commercial litigation where she was Second-chair on a jury trial for an aviation charter company which involved the unlawful dissemination of intellectual property, and obtained a jury verdict in favor of the client, including an award of punitive damages. She also prepared, researched and drafted a North Carolina Appellate Brief pertaining to aircraft ownership rights in a fractional ownership program post-bankruptcy. Ms. Castro is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and Western District of Oklahoma. She is an active member of the National Business Aviation Association and Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association.
