Jamie Kainalu Nakoa is an associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Wicker Smith where she focuses her practice on premises liability and civil litigation matters.
Ms. Nakoa graduated cum laude from Lynchburg College in three years where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Political Science along with a minor in International Relations in 2015. She also graduated summa cum laude from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law where she earned a Juris Doctorate in 2018. While attending law school, Ms. Nakoa served as Executive Justice for Academics of the Moot Court Society, Senior Associate for the Nova Law Review, Board Member for the Nova Trial Association and was recognized by the National Order of Barristers in 2018 for her exceptional skill in trial advocacy, oral advocacy, and brief writing. In addition, she was awarded multiple Book Awards, recognized as Best Advocate in both Moot Court and Mock Trial competitions, and received the 2017 B’nai B’rith Justice Unit Constitutional Law Award. Prior to joining Wicker Smith in 2018, Ms. Nakoa practiced at another Florida firm where she gained practical experience with bankruptcy, health law, and commercial litigation.
