Devan Noel McGowan is an associate in Wicker Smith’s Jacksonville office where she focuses her practice on matters involving medical and legal malpractice, premises liability, and product liability.
In 2013, Ms. McGowan graduated from Florida Atlantic University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Political Science and a minor in Psychology. She then went on to earn a Juris Doctor in 2016 from Barry University School of Law. Ms. McGowan graduated cum laude and also received book awards for the highest overall grade in her class in Commercial and Labor Law. While in law school, Ms. McGowan was the President of the Barry University School of Law Trial Team and competed in several competitions, winning the Regional AAJ Student Trial Advocacy competition in 2016 and placing in Elite Eight at nationals. She also received the Florida Bar Labor & Employment Law Section Scholarship in 2014 and Barry University School of Law Trial Team Advocate of 2016.
Prior to joining Wicker Smith, Ms. McGowan practiced at a Jacksonville insurance defense litigation firm and also for The Office of the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in Orange County. Ms. McGowan was admitted to practice in the State of Florida in 2016 and is an active member of the Florida Bar. Outside of practicing law, Ms. McGowan enjoys playing pool and spending time with her lab-mix, Jax.
