David FryBiographyDavid A. Fry is an Associate in Wicker Smith’s Fort Lauderdale office, where his practice primarily focuses on civil litigation involving automobile negligence. In 2006, Mr. Fry earned a Bachelor’s degree from Florida International University, with a major in International Relations and a minor in Geography, graduating cum laude. Mr. Fry differentiated himself as a policy aide to the Major of Miami while still an undergraduate student. He then continued his studies at Florida Atlantic University where he received a Master’s degree in Education and taught social studies at a Jesuit school with historic roots in Miami’s vibrant Cuban community. Mr. Fry attended Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law where he was a member of Moot Court and participated in criminal jury trials as a Certified Legal Intern in the Orange County State Attorney’s Office. He earned his Juris Doctor in 2014. Prior to joining Wicker Smith in 2018, Mr. Fry began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Orange County, where he functioned as a DUI and traffic crime specialist. Later, seeking the challenge of representing clients facing criminal penalties, he served as an Assistant Public Defender in both Seminole and Broward Counties. Before leaving government service, he was a member of the appeals division of the Broward County Public Defender’s office where, in addition to drafting appellate briefs and petitions, argued post-conviction motions on behalf of clients that were sentenced to long terms of incarceration. Mr. Fry is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and is an active member of The Florida Bar. He regularly volunteers as a mentor and moot court judge at his law school. Outside of practicing law, David enjoys participating in local civic organizations, exercising, and experiencing Florida’s beautiful coastlines with his wife and two children.
