Caitlin ShieldsCaitlin Shields Caitlin M. Shields is an associate in Wicker Smith’s West Palm Beach office where she focuses her practice on complex and multi-party claims involving automobile negligence, wrongful death, premises liability, and medical malpractice. In 2013, Ms. Shields earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida with a major in political science and a certificate in leadership studies. She then went on to earn a Juris Doctor in 2016 from the University of Florida, where she won multiple Book Awards in medical malpractice, legal drafting, and cyber security and data breaches. While in law school, Ms. Shields was a teaching assistant for the Legal Writing and Appellate Advocacy courses and notes editor for the Journal of Technology Law & Policy. She also served as a graduate research assistant, researching topics in juvenile justice and delinquency prevention. Ms. Shields also interned throughout law school, and in the summer of 2014, she served as an intern for Federal Magistrate Judge Dave Lee Brannon in West Palm Beach, Florida. She then clerked for Wicker Smith in the summer of 2015 and interned at the State Attorney’s Office for the Eighth Judicial Circuit in the spring of 2016. Admitted to practice in Florida in 2016, Ms. Shields is a member of the Florida Bar, American Bar Association, and Palm Beach County Bar Association. Outside of her practice, Ms. Shields is an avid long-distance runner and spends her free time training and competing in half marathons, as she plans to run one half marathons in every state.
