Amanda J. Newlon is an associate in Wicker Smith’s Tampa office where she focuses her practice primarily on nursing home, medical malpractice, probate & guardianship, premises liability, legal malpractice and civil litigation matters.
Ms. Newlon graduated cum laude from Florida State University with a major in English and a minor in History in 2014. She continued her studies and earned her Juris Doctorate in 2017, graduating magna cum laude and in the top 3% of her class. While in law school, Ms. Newlon was a member of several prestigious organizations including the Order of the Coif, Phi Alpha Delta Mock Trial Team and she was on the executive board of the Association for Criminal Justice and Mock Trial Team. She also served as a CLI in the State Attorney’s Office for the Second Judicial Circuit and as a research assistant to Professor Nat Stern, who specializes in U.S. Constitutional law. In addition, Ms. Newlon received the book award for the highest grades in Evidence, Litigation Skills, and Closely-Held Business Organizations courses. Prior to joining Wicker Smith, she practiced at an Orange County litigation firm where she handled medical malpractice, nursing home, hospital regulation and premises liability cases.
Ms. Newlon is admitted to practice in the state of Florida and is an active member of The Florida Bar and Orange County Bar Association. Outside of practicing law, Amanda is an experienced artist and also enjoys jogging and playing board games.
