William F. Fink, a partner in the Miami office, began his tenure with Wicker Smith as a law clerk in 1988 and has continued to have a successful career.  An ardent litigator, he has tried to verdict numerous construction, medical malpractice and products liability cases.  Though these practice areas make up the majority of his casework, Mr. Fink also actively represents clients in cases involving premises liability, automobile negligence and insurance defense.

Mr. Fink handles cases in all aspects of construction litigation throughout the state of Florida, representing developers, general contractors, sub-contractors and design professionals for both residential and commercial properties.  Among his many clients include: Delant Construction, Golden Sands Construction, BEC Construction, Quantum Development, William Nash Plumbing and Williams Paving.  Most recently, Mr. Fink was retained to represent Quantum Development in a class-action suit by 60+ homeowners claiming defective design and constructions of roofs, which were damaged in the 2005 hurricanes.  In addition, he is defending a sub-contractor in a multi-million dollar construction defect case involving a Miami Beach condominium.

Also engaged in cases statewide, Mr. Fink represents healthcare providers, hospital facilities, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, extended care facilities and congregate living facilities in a wide range of complex medical malpractice issues.  Currently, he represents Tenet Healthcare Corporation, which through its subsidiaries, owns and operates acute care hospitals and numerous related health care services in various locations across the country. Mr. Fink has given numerous lectures to doctors, medical staff and general counsel for client hospitals.

In his product liability experience, he has represented manufacturers, distributors and retailers involving a multitude of products, such as Asplundh lifts and chippers, Raleigh bikes and flammable colognes.

Additionally, Mr. Fink’s experience includes representing insurance companies in coverage disputes and first party litigation, as well as representing agents, brokers, and underwriters in E&O litigation.

Mr. Fink’s achievements throughout his career have been recognized by his peers, earning him an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating awarded by that organization.  Most recently he was admitted to the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation only group of trial attorneys required to be certified by the local bench and bar as exceptional practitioners in the community.  Admitted to practice in the state of Florida in 1988, Mr. Fink earned his Juris Doctor from Stetson University that same year.  He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida in 1984.
