Scott D. Knapp is an associate in Wicker Smith’s Miami office.  He has actively litigated in both the state and federal courts, representing clients in medical and professional malpractice, commercial litigation, Medicare Secondary Payer Act, bad faith and coverage disputes.  Prior to joining Wicker Smith, he also handled cases involving workers’ compensation disputes. 

 

Scott graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law and was named to The Society of Bar of Gavel, the school’s highest honorary society.  While in law school, he worked as a legal intern for the Miami Heat, reporting directly to the executive management team.  He also served as vice president of the Student Bar Association, president of the Cardozo Jewish Legal Society, director of orientation for “Law School 101” and a staff writer for Res Ispa Loquitur. Scott received the Helping Others through Pro bono Efforts (H.O.P.E.) pin for his outstanding commitment to service. A member of the Dean’s list for all eight semesters, Scott graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University with a B.S. in Political Science and Criminology.  He is a member of The Florida Bar, Dade County Bar Association, The Greater Miami Jewish Federation and serves as the regional governor for Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity.
