Mr. Cabanas was raised in Miami, Florida.  He attended college at Northwestern University and then returned home to obtain his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami in 1984.  He is married to Leonor Cabanas; they have two children, Oscar and Olivia.

 

A very experienced trial attorney, Mr. Cabanas handles litigation in tort claims in the medical and transportation areas.  Although he tries cases throughout Florida, his main venues are Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys. 

 

Mr. Cabanas is currently an officer with the Miami chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation only group of trial attorneys required to be certified by the local bench and bar as exceptional practitioners in the community.  Additionally, he is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, an exclusive organization limited to 1400 worldwide members. He is an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.

 

He is admitted to practice in both the state of Florida and Illinois. Mr. Cabanas is an avid golfer and likes to spend time outdoors with his family.
